Mattel, Bellatrix Lestrange). Powoli zbliżam się jednak ku końcowi. Dziś pokażę Wam prawie ukończone poddasze. Oczywiście mówimy tylko o prawie ukończonych elementach drewnianych. xD
W
poprzednim poście prace zakończyły się na boazerii, a ściślej rzecz biorąc na pionowo ułożonych deskach na ścianach. Następnym etapem było przyklejenie desek na skosach. Zanim jednak się za to wzięłam - przycięłam i przykleiłam listwy, które nieco pomagały mi z odpowiednim umiejscowieniem desek.
Still working on the woodwork at Margaret's (Mattel, Bellatrix Lestrange) house. But I am slowly approaching the end. Today I will show you an almost finished attic. Of course, we are only talking about almost finished wooden elements. xD
In the previous post, the work ended on the paneling, or more precisely on the vertically arranged boards on the walls. The next step was to glue the boards on the slanted ceiling. However, before I got down to it - I cut and glued the slats, which helped me a bit with the proper placement of the boards.
Następnie docinałam i przyklejałam deski. Zaczęłam od tych wokół lukarn.

Zauważyliście pewnie różnicę w kolorze desek (czyli mieszadeł do farb o długości 26 cm). Wspominałam w poprzednim wpisie, że mi się skończyły. Zamówiłam więc kolejną partię. Niby od tego samego sprzedawcy, niby to samo drewno, ale niestety inne. Oczywiście dla kogoś, kto kupuje to z zamiarem użycia ich zgodnie z przeznaczeniem - nie ma to najmniejszego znaczenia. xD
Całe szczęście, że poprzednia partia wystarczyła na pionowe deski boazerii. Nowa poszła już na skosy. Ponieważ ściany planuję pomalować na zielono, niebiesko lub na coś pomiędzy (wciąż się zastanawiam), a skosy bejcą - tym bardziej nie będzie problemu z różnym rodzajem drewna.
You've probably noticed the difference in the color of the boards (paint stirrers with a length of 26 cm). I mentioned in the previous post that I ran out of them. So I ordered another batch. Supposedly from the same seller, supposedly the same wood, but unfortunately different. Of course, for someone who buys these with the intention of using them for their intended purpose - it doesn't matter in the slightest. xD
Fortunately, the previous batch was enough for the vertical boards of the paneling. The new one has already gone to the slanted ceiling. Because I plan to paint the walls green, blue or something in between (I'm still wondering) and the slants with stain - all the more so it won't be a problem with different types of wood.
Podczas klejenia desek wyszło, jak strasznie złym konstruktorem dachów jestem. xD
W niektórych miejscach deski trzymały się dosłownie na słowo honoru w dwóch miejscach styku. Było to nieco problematyczne podczas klejenia (wciąż mi coś odpadało i dostawałam lekkiej nerwicy, a łacina leciała na prawo i lewo), ale ostatecznie wszystko udało się wyrównać. Siostra miała rację, to był najlepszy sposób na wykończenie poddasza.

In some places, the boards were held literally on word of honor in two places of contact. It was a bit problematic during gluing (they kept falling off and I was getting a little nervous, and Latin flew to the right and left), but in the end everything was evened out. Sister was right, it was the best way to finish the attic.
W międzyczasie, gdy czekałam na wyschnięcie kleju, docinałam kolejne elementy. Listwy, narożniki, deskę przy otworze na schody itp. Generalnie robota szła powoli. Głównie ze względu na brak odpowiednich zacisków, ale też miejsca. Gdy wymyśliłam jakąś abstrakcyjną konstrukcję z nieużywanych akurat kawałków drewna, która miała za zadanie docisnąć klejone elementy (uwierzcie, to było wyzwanie!) - robiło się tak ciasno we wnętrzu, że nie mogłam wymierzyć następnych elementów bez rozwalania owej konstrukcji.
In the meantime, while I was waiting for the glue to dry, I cut the next elements. Laths, corners, a board at the staircase opening, etc. Generally, the work went slowly. Mainly due to the lack of appropriate clamps, but also space. When I came up with some abstract structure made of unused pieces of wood, which was supposed to press the glued elements together (believe me, it was a challenge!) - it got so tight inside that I couldn't measure the next elements without breaking the construction.
Następnym krokiem było dodanie krokwi (u mnie na ozdobę, bo jak widać nie mają wartości konstrukcyjnej xD) i jętek.
The next step was to add rafters (for me, for decoration, because as you can see, they have no structural value xD) and collar ties.
Tak prezentuje się wnętrze domu po przyklejeniu ostatniej deski na poddaszu. Tu tylko napomknę o zmianie w koncepcji "drzew" na parterze - z jednego, które planowałam wstawić na początku, zrobiło się trzy. A w sumie cztery licząc jeszcze centralny element schodów. Wszystkie jednak są niezbędne do umocnienia konstrukcji i wsparcia podłogi. Tutaj nie stoją idealnie na docelowych miejscach, będą możliwie blisko ścian i narożników pomieszczeń, ale to dopiero jak będę je już mocowała na stałe. Na razie chronią podłogę przed przypadkowym zawaleniem. ;)
This is how the interior of the house looks like after gluing the last board in the attic. Here I will only mention the concept of "trees" on the ground floor - from one, which I planned to put at the beginning, it became three. And four in total, counting the central element of the stairs. However, all of them are necessary to strengthen the structure and support the floor. Here they do not stand perfectly in their final places, they will be as close as possible to the walls and corners of the rooms, but that's only when I'll fix them permanently. For now, they protect the floor from accidental collapse. ;)

Zastanawiam się jeszcze nad dodaniem "drzewa" przy ścianie na środku poddasza. Pełniło by funkcję wieszaka. Ale jeszcze nie jestem pewna, czy zostanie. Nawiązałoby do wystroju parteru, ale muszę zobaczyć, czy nie będzie tego po prostu za dużo.
I'm still thinking about adding a "tree" by the wall in the middle of the attic. It would act as a hanger. But I'm still not sure if I will. It would refer to the decor of the ground floor, but I have to see if it won't be just too much.
Kocia inspektorka oczywiście niezawodna. W dodatku zadowolona, bo wreszcie posprzątałam nieco podłogę i zrobiłam jej miejsce. Tak, oczywiście dla NIEJ.
Cat inspector, of course, reliable. Plus, she's happy because I've finally cleaned up the floor a bit and made room for her. Yes, of course for HER.
Na dole zrobiłam niewiele, dodałam belkę nad paleniskiem i częściowo zmontowałam schody. Brakuje w nich jeszcze balustrady, więc postanowiłam, że szczegółowo opiszę proces ich tworzenia w osobnym wpisie, jak już będą gotowe.
Downstairs I did little, added a beam above the hearth and partially assembled the stairs. They still lack balustrades, so I decided to describe the process of creating them in detail in a separate entry, when they are ready.
No i doszłam do końcowego etapu prac w drewnie. Teraz wszystko trzeba wygładzić, usunąć ślady kleju, zaokrąglić nieco krawędzie, aby nadać drewnu wygląd nieco starszy i "używany". I powiem Wam, że to jest mozolna praca...
Ogólnie sama jestem sobie winna. Nie umiem pracować z klejem. Jakbym się nie starała - zawsze wszystko uciapię. Teoretycznie można by było machnąć całość farbą czy bejcą z marszu, bo te mieszadła/deski są dosyć gładkie. Ale klej jest wszędzie. Tu ciapnięte, tam ciapnięte... Muszę to usunąć, żeby nie wyłaziło spod farby, a jeszcze gorzej spod bejcy.
Moja rada dla wszystkich, którzy będą się brać za lalkową stolarkę: nie ciapajcie wszystkiego klejem. xD
Well, I came to the final stage of woodworking. Now everything needs to be smoothed, remove traces of glue, round the edges a bit to give the wood a slightly older and "used" look. And let me tell you, it's hard work...
I'm totally to blame myself. I can't work with glue. No matter how hard I try, I always end up messing everything up. Theoretically, you could paint the whole thing with paint or stain on the go, because these mixers/boards are quite smooth. But the glue is everywhere. A slap here, a slap there... I have to remove it so that it doesn't come out from under the paint, and even worse from under the stain.
My advice to everyone who will take up doll woodwork: do not smear everything with glue. xD
Jedynie podłogę udało się wygładzić szlifierką oscylacyjną. Oczywiście nie ja sama, pomagał Mąż. Ja nie jestem w stanie utrzymać tej machiny zbyt długo, moje nadgarstki wysiadają od tych wibracji w kilkanaście sekund...
Cała reszta do zrobienia Dremelem (ale też nie wszędzie) albo ręcznie.
Only the floor was smoothed with an orbital sander. Of course, not me alone, my Husband helped. I can't hold this machine for too long, my wrists are dying from the vibrations in a few seconds...
Everything else to be done with a Dremel (but also not everywhere) or by hand.
