Teoretycznie nie jest to post dotyczący postępów w Domu Zielarki jako takim. Ogród jest jednak dopełnieniem całego projektu i postanowiłam napisać także o nim. Poza tym fajnie będzie porównać jego wygląd za rok, czy dwa. :)

Początkowo myślałam, że Dom Zielarki będę ustawiała w istniejącej już części lalkowego ogrodu. Tak zrobiłam np. podczas sesji z Doll Tour Poland 2023. I w sumie wyszło. :) 

W maju zaczęliśmy jednak robić porządki w ogrodzie. Jeszcze w lutym obfite opady śniegu (w ciągu nocy spadło wtedy ok. 40 cm śniegu) połamały kilka krzewów. Po wycięciu jednego z nich (zapomniałam zrobić zdjęcie przed, ale chodzi o miejsce koło rododendrona, tam gdzie jest taki łysy kawałek żywopłotu), musieliśmy usunąć też dwie sąsiadujące niższe rośliny. Została dziura. Myślałam o tym, aby po prostu zrobić tam kawałek trawnika. I to moja Córa wpadła na pomysł, aby zrobić tam wiedźmi ogród.

Theoretically, this is not a post about the progress of the Herbalist's Cottage itself. However, the garden is a complement to the whole project and I decided to write about it as well. Plus, it'll be fun to compare how it looks in a year or two. :)

Initially, I thought that I would place the Herbalist's Cottage in the already existing part of the doll garden. That's what I did, for example, during the Doll Tour Poland 2023 session. And it all worked out. :)

In May, however, we started cleaning the garden. In February, heavy snowfall (approx. 40 cm - almost 16 inches - of snow fell during the night) broke several bushes. After cutting out one of them (I forgot to take a photo before, but it was near the rhododendron, where there is such a bald patch of hedge), we also had to remove two adjacent lower plants. There's a hole left. I was thinking of just making a piece of lawn there. And it was my Daughter who came up with the idea to make a witch's garden there.

Trzeba było wymyślić coś, co pozwoliłoby bezpiecznie ustawiać dom, aby nie łapał wilgoci. Planuję go zabezpieczyć przed wodą, ale jednak podstawą konstrukcji jest karton, więc lepiej nie ryzykować. A nie chciałabym tracić możliwości zrobienia sesji z tak błahego powodu, jak mokra trawa.

Postanowiłam więc zrobić coś w rodzaju podmurówki/tarasu z kamienia. Mąż pomógł, bo te kawałki były naprawdę ciężkie. Poza tym wiecie - ja bym to poukładała na oko, a on wziął poziomicę. xD

It was necessary to come up with something that would allow you to safely position the house so that it does not catch moisture. I plan to protect it against water, but the basis of the construction is cardboard, so it's better not to risk it. And I wouldn't want to lose the opportunity to do a session for such a trivial reason as wet grass.

So I decided to do something like a foundation/terrace made of stone. My husband helped because the pieces were really heavy. Besides, you know - I would make it using my eye, and he took a spirit level. xD

Później ułożyłam ścieżkę do domu i wstępnie ustaliłam miejsce wkopania drzew w ogrodzie.

Later, I laid the path to the house and pre-determined the place of planting the trees in the garden.

W wiedźmim ogrodzie posadziłam trzy graby, ozdobną wiśnię Kojo-nu-mai, hibiskusa, dąbki (które moja Córa wyhodowała z żołędzi), chyba jakiegoś cyprysika, dąbrówkę, miniaturowe funkie, fortegilę, barbulę, dwa berberysy i suchodrzew. Niektóre z nich miałam od dawna w doniczkach, miały być bonsai, ale jakoś nie wyszło. ;) Część to samosiejki, które wykopałam z innych części ogrodu. I wszystko jakoś się zgrało.

In the witch's garden I planted three hornbeams, an decorative cherry Kojo-nu-mai, a hibiscus, oaks (which my Daughter grew from acorns), a cypress, a bugle, a miniature funky, a fortegila, a bluebeard, two barberries and a honeysuckle. I had some of them in pots for a long time, they were supposed to be bonsai, but somehow it didn't work out. ;) Some of them are self-sown plants that I dug up from other parts of the garden. And everything just kind of fell into place.

Na razie nie będę dosadzać niczego dużego, zobaczymy na wiosnę, czy będzie taka potrzeba.

For now, I will not add anything big, we'll see in the spring if it will be necessary.

Następnie na początku sierpnia wysiałam trawę. I byłam mega zaskoczona, bo już po tygodniu się zazieleniło. 

Then, in early August, I sowed the grass. And I was super surprised, because after a week it turned green.

Z trawą wygląda nieźle, prawda? Cieszę się, bo będę mogła również ustawiać tam altanę, albo w ogóle traktować to jako taras w ogrodzie do różnych zdjęć. Nawiasem mówiąc w tym roku nie korzystałam z altany... Aż żal.

Trochę martwię się o graby, bo dwa z trzech zżółkły już i zrzuciły niemal wszystkie liście. Trochę za wcześnie. No ale cóż. Wiosną okaże się, czy zdążyły się ukorzenić.

Looks good with grass, doesn't it? I'm happy because I will also be able to set up a gazebo there, or even treat it as a terrace in the garden for various photos. By the way, I didn't use the gazebo this year... It's a pity.

I'm a little worried about the hornbeams, because two out of three have already turned yellow and dropped almost all their leaves. A little early. But well. We'll see in the spring if they've taken root.

A co do trawy, to rośnie jak szalona. Co ją skoszę, to trzy dni później jest tak, jak na tym zdjęciu  z Adelą (Hasbro, Beauty and the Beast, Bella).

About the grass - it grows like crazy. I mow it and three days later it's like in this photo with Adela (Hasbro, Beauty and the Beast, Bella).

Na szybko kilka ujęć ze środka. Od razu lepiej, gdy za oknem widać zieleń.

Wspomnę jeszcze, że schody mi się w międzyczasie rozpadły. Ech... No ale już je poprawiłam, skleiłam, wzmocniłam balustradę sznurkiem (prawie nie widać, bo użyłam sznurka bawełnianego i pomalowałam go tą samą bejcą, co drewno). Na razie w ogóle wyjęłam je z domu, zamontuję już po zrobieniu ścian i podłogi na parterze.

I will also mention that my stairs fell apart in the meantime. Eh... Well, I've already corrected them, glued them together, reinforced the balustrade with a string (almost not visible, because I used a cotton string and painted it with the same stain as the wood). For now, I took them out of the house at all, I will install them after making the walls and floor on the ground floor.

W ostatni weekend, właśnie pod tym potrójnym oknem, dosadziłam wrzosy. Wzięły udział w ostatniej sesji z Tamiką (Barbie Looks #7).

Last weekend, under this triple window, I planted heather. They took part in the last session with Tamika (Barbie Looks #7).

Posadziłam tam trzy kępki, dość ściśle, żeby było gęsto. 

I planted three clumps there, quite closely to make it dense.

Dziś rano doszłam jednak do wniosku, że to za mało. Kocham wrzosy, w dodatku pasują do wiedźm idealnie... No nie było wyjścia. Dosadziłam jeszcze kilka. xD

This morning, however, I came to the conclusion that it was not enough. I love heather, and it fits witches perfectly... Well, there was no choice. I planted a few more. xD

I tym sposobem moje małe wiedźmy mają ogród. Margaret (Mattel, Bellatrix Lestrange) wygląda na zadowoloną. ;)
