Postacie z Wiedźmiego Świata - portrety | Characters from the Witcher World - portraits

Lista poprzednich odcinków Opowieści z Wiedźmiego Świata.
List of previous episodes of Tales from the Witch World.

Razem z Jo z Wiedźmiego Świata od dwóch miesięcy porządkujemy naszą historię z Wiedźmiwersum na profilu Tales From The Witch World. :)

Podrzucam portrety postaci i tutaj.

TOVE I RAGNVALD

MINERVA I GYDA (zdjęcie poniżej)

Matka Tove i Miriam, bliźniaczek. Mieszka z Tove i pomaga jej prowadzić Zielarnię w Salvii.

It's been quiet here on the blog, although my doll hobby is actually going great. The year is coming to an end, and I've added a lot of dolls that I haven't even had a chance to show off yet (they're still waiting for their outfits, of course...). I've resumed work on Margaret's Cottage and hope to show you the results soon.

Jo from Witch World and I have been organizing our Witchverse story on the Tales From The Witch World profile for two months now. And I have to admit, we're proud of ourselves, because it's coming along quite well. :)

I'm posting character portraits here too. Starting with the couple from the photo above – Tove and Ragnvald.

TOVE AND RAGNVALD

Tove is the daughter of Minerva and sister of Miriam. She possesses the strongest gift of any living woman in the Salvia witch family. She is not only a healer but also an earth witch. She can draw healing energy from stones and minerals, has intuition, and a gift for sensing illness. She has run Tove's Herbal Shop in Salvia for decades.

Ragnvald hails from Krigann, born in the city of Silbagedi. He is a battle mage and member of the Great Three. He graduated from the Military Academy with distinction, became the youngest officer, and distinguished himself in the First War with Arnold. Due to the long-standing peace, he retired and no longer commands the army. Every year, he conducts training sessions as a guest lecturer at the Academy for a month.

Tove and Ragnvald have three children: twins Aurora and Sigrid, and a son, Torvald.

MINERVA AND GYDA (photo below)

Minerva and Gyda are the oldest living witches from the famous clan of Healers from Salvia. This family has lived in a town at the foot of the Black Mountains for centuries and enjoyed respect, not only in the area. The fame of the red-haired witch healers is known throughout Skageland. In each generation, twin sisters are born, gifted with healing talents. This gift is passed down through the female line. All the women in the family also have fiery red hair and are blessed with longevity. Their guardian stone is tourmaline, so each of them wears jewelry with this mineral.

Gyda lives in the nearby village of Golden Birches and cares for its inhabitants. She is a widow - her husband, Otto, died during the First War with Arnold. She has no children. She often visits her sister, who lives in Salvia.

Minerva is also a widow, her husband, Sigurd, died 20 years ago. She is the mother of Tove and Miriam, the twins. She lives with Tove and helps her run the Herbal Shop in Salvia. She is demanding, and everyone takes her opinion seriously. Only her grandchildren and great-grandchildren are allowed to misbehave around her as much as they want.

SIGRID I JOHAN,
GERDA, AGNES

Sigrid jest córką Tove i Ragnvalda. Wygadana i żywiołowa, przeciwieństwo swojej siostry bliźniaczki, Aurory.

To zdolny płatnerz.

Sigrid i Johan mają dwie córeczki – 4-letnie rudowłose bliźniaczki, Gerdę i Agnes.

SIGRID AND JOHAN,
GERDA, AGNES

Sigrid is the daughter of Tove and Ragnvald. She's eloquent and lively, the opposite of her twin sister, Aurora. Like her mother and sister, she's an earth witch. She has a gift that allows her to forge strong bonds with animals. She uses her skills to heal both the farm animals in Salvia and the wild inhabitants of the surrounding forests.

Johan is the son of Ragna and Einar. He's a skilled armorer. He's learning his craft under the tutelage of Salvia's oldest master armorer and is slowly beginning to surpass his teacher. He primarily forges swords and daggers, but metal generally holds no secrets for him.

Sigrid and Johan have two daughters – 4-year-old red-haired twins, Gerda and Agnes. Their earth magic gift hasn't awakened yet, but it should soon.

AURORA I INGVAR

Aurora jest córką Tove i Ragnvalda. Siostra bliźniaczka Sigrid, choć z charakteru zupełnie niepodobna do siostry.

AURORA AND INGVAR

Aurora is the daughter of Tove and Ragnvald. Sigrid's twin sister, though completely unlike her sister in personality. Quiet and delicate, she possesses a very strong intuition, her hunches almost always coming true. She helps her mother in the Herbal Shop. She is also an earth witch, but her gift is not as strong as Tove's. She cannot use the energy of stones, but she has an incredible knack for growing plants –literally anything grows for her. She is engaged to Ingvar.

Ingvar comes from the nearby village of Golden Birches. His parents died several years ago, and he is an only child. He has been a city guard in Salvia for a year, but it seems he will soon be promoted to decurion.

INGE I TORVALD,
SVEN, HILDE

Spokojny i cierpliwy.

Inge i Torvald mają dwójkę dzieci: Svena i Hilde.

INGE AND TORVALD,
SVEN, HILDE

Inge is the daughter of Gertrude and Magnus. Despite her magical parents, she possesses no magical gifts. However, she has an extraordinary talent for her craft – she is a weaver, and the fabrics that emerge from her fingers are captivating with their patterns and colors.

Torvald is the son of Tove and Ragnvald. The older brother of Aurora and Sigrid. Calm and patient. He has no magical abilities, but is an excellent hunter and tracker.

Inge and Torvald have two children: Sven and Hilde. Their third child will soon be born.

Sven is theerteen years old and a reserved, taciturn boy. Like his father, he's very calm, patient, and has a wonderful eye for animals. He could spend all day in Grandpa Ragnvald's aviary.

Hilde is three years old and the biggest troublemaker in the red-haired witch family. But she's also so charming that she usually gets away with anything. Even Grandma Minerva can't stay mad at her.

MIRIAM I HARALD

Jednak odkąd jej córki dorosły często podróżuje i pomaga kobietom w okolicznych wioskach.

Harald – kapitan straży miejskiej w Salvii. Wcześniej służył w wojsku jego królewskiej wysokości Emyra, ojca Ellinor. Po wojnie z Arnoldem wybrał spokojniejszy posterunek.

Miriam i Harald mają trzy córki –  najstarszą Brigitte oraz bliźniaczki: Morganę i Ingrid.

MIRIAM AND HARALD

Miriam is the daughter of Minerva and the twin sister of Tove. Like her sister, she is an earth witch, though her gift is not as strong. But she is a wonderful healer and an excellent midwife. She lives in Salvia, in a house on the outskirts of town. However, since her daughters grew up, she has traveled frequently and helped women in the surrounding villages.

Harald – Captain of the Salvia City Guard. He previously served in the army of His Royal Highness Emyr, Ellinor's father. After the war with Arnold, he chose a more peaceful post.

Miriam and Harald have three daughters – the eldest, Brigitte, and twins: Morgana and Ingrid.

Wiedźmi Świat, Zimowe Przesilenie cz. 3 | Witch World, Winter Solstice Part 3

Poprzednie wpisy z historiami z Wiedźmiego Świata:
Na szlaku,
Salvia,
Zimowe Przesilenie cz. 1,
- Zimowe Przesilenie cz. 2.

Previous posts with stories from the Witch World:

On the Trail,
Salvia,
Winter Solstice Part 1,
- Winter Solstice Part 2.

And let me remind about Jo's blog, Witch World - there the entire story from both of our doll lands is collected in one place.

Rozmowy przy stole trwały w najlepsze. Narzeczony Aurory, Ingvar, chwycił lutnię i zaczął grać piękną, spokojną balladę.
- O, Linette też gra na lutni... - zaczął Albert, ale służka spiorunowała go wzrokiem i natychmiast zamilkł.

- To niesamowite!
- To Huginn, kruk mojego dziadka, Ragnvalda.
- Czy mogę go pogłaskać?

Conversations at the table were in full swing. Aurora's fiance, Ingvar, took up the lute and began to play a beautiful, peaceful ballad.
- Oh, Linette also plays the lute... - Albert began, but the maid glared at him and he immediately fell silent.

- It's amazing! I've never seen tame ravens! - Mona looked at the black-feathered birds with delight.
- There's a forest witch living at the Mist Pass who breeds them - Sven proudly showed off the raven that perched on his shoulder. - This is Huginn, my grandfather's, Ragnvald's raven.
- Can I pet him?
- Yes, he's very calm. Just watch out for Torfinn, aunt Margaret's mischievous one. He doesn't like strangers, he can peck painfully.
- How do you recognize them? - Mona asked, surprised.
- Oh, each one is completely different! Huginn is black as night. Torfinn's feathers shimmer with dark purple and he has a lighter beak. And Siana, Grandma Gertrude's raven, is much smaller.
Linette, fascinated just like Mona, looked at the beautiful birds.
- Do they also carry messages, like Bree? - asked the girl.
- Ooooh, have you met Great-Grandma Minerva's owl? - smiled Sven. - Yes, them too. But they can fly far, for days. They are incredibly wise. Owls only carry messages over short distances.

Ingvar zakończył balladę i zaczął grać wesołą, skoczną piosenkę.
To ważne. Czuję to.

Ingvar finished the ballad and began playing a cheerful, lively song. He glanced back at the girl talking to Sven and whispered to Aurora:
- Why do you think they're traveling so far at this time of year? You said the little one was very ill. No wonder, the weather is definitely not conducive to traveling.
- I don't know. Lady Elaine doesn't seem to want to reveal what made her make this trip. But I know we should help them. It's important. I can feel it.

- Kapitanem straży - Harald mrugnął do młodego.

Harald had heard the young men talking about swords earlier, so he asked Albert if they needed anything for their journey.
- Johan didn't boast that he was slowly catching up with his master - he said with appreciation. - If you need to arm yourselves before you leave, you should visit their forge.
- I have everything, but Hector could use a new sword - Albert wondered. - And Linette didn't bring her daggers...
He broke off. Harald noticed that the young man was confused. So he pretended not to be interested at all and returned to the subject of swords.
- I'm sure you'll find a good sword. The entire city guard has swords forged by them, they're reliable.
- Are you a guard, sir?
- The captain of the guard - Harald winked at the young man.

Miriam przysiadła koło Inge.
- Jak się czujesz, kochanie? Widziałam, że niewiele jesz.
- No cóż.
- Prawda?

Miriam sat down next to Inge.
- How are you feeling, my dear? I saw that you haven't eaten much.
- Well. The morning sickness has been going on until the evening, as you can see - the black-haired girl grimaced. - I hope it will pass any day now. Margaret brought me some ginger, maybe it will help and tone them down a little.
- Do the children already know that they will have a brother or sister?
- They know, they know. And they can't wait - Inge smiled.
Miriam glanced at Sven, who was talking to Mona about ravens.
- Well, well. And normally he would barely say two words - she smiled warmly.
- Right? He quickly found common ground with that girl. You know how much he loves animals and can sit in the aviary for hours. And she is very nice.
- I wonder what made them go so far away. At this time of year! If it weren't for that collapsed bridge under Korundia, they would have taken the Southern Road, it would have been a completely different story. I don't even want to think about how bad their trip must have been here, on the Northern Road. Have you ever been there? Awful road, and there are almost no people there, not even a small village. Not to mention the inns...

- Margaret, have you brought any of your remedies for the little one? They could use some supplies, they still have a long way to go - Gyda asked, sitting down next to Margaret and Gertrude.
- I have, I have. The whole bag - Margaret smiled. - But they don't intend to set off right away, do they? The pass is certainly impassable. Selena recently sent me a raven, it washed out the road. Imagine that this small stream, the Silver, flooded right up to her cottage! Fortunately, it didn't reach the house itself...
- What's worse, snow will fall any day now - Gertrude nodded, and her earrings jingled melodiously.
- Certainly, I've felt it in my old bones for a few days - Gyda agreed. - From what Minerva told me, they'll be staying in Salvia for a while. They've rented rooms at Tora's inn. They probably won't set off until spring.

Johan i Torvald weszli niosąc naręcza grubych kłód.

Johan and Torvald entered carrying armfuls of thick logs. It looked as if the feast and celebration would last until morning. They could not lack firewood.

Minerva was reading little Hilda her favorite story about the dragon. The girl already knew it by heart, but she was always excited by the adventures of the wise dragon. Gerda and Agnes were sitting on the carpet next to her, along with the dachshund and the cats. They were listening with half an ear, arguing about which of the animals was the most beautiful and the wisest.

- westchnęła Lady, a w jej głosie zabrzmiała jakaś tęsknota. - A ta uczta! Ty i twoja siostra jesteście niezrównanymi kucharkami.
Mrugnęła też wesoło do rozmówczyni.
- To prawda - skinęła głową Lady Elaine.

Tove sat down next to Lady Elaine.
- Thank you, Herbalist, for the invitation - the lady said with sincere gratitude. - I didn't think we'd be spending this holiday season in such a wonderful place as your home. This journey... Nothing was going as it should have.
Tove wanted to ask about the reason that had forced them to leave Korundia, but decided against it. She didn't want to put her guest in an awkward position, and Lady Elaine clearly didn't want to talk about it.
- I'm glad you've joined us. The Solstice should be spent among family and friends.
- It's so joyful here... - the Lady sighed, and there was a certain longing in her voice. - And this feast! You and your sister are incomparable cooks. And I can't help but wonder how much you look alike...
- You're not the only one who is amazed - Tove laughed, setting down her goblet. She also winked at her interlocutor playfully. - And I'm sure you're intrigued by how you see so many pairs of twins here.
- True - Lady Elaine nodded.
- Our family has been involved with herbs, earth magic, and healing for centuries. We were given a gift that we share with the people, caring for their health. What's more, in every generation, red-haired twins are born. Only girls. They are gifted with many skills and pass them on to their daughters.
- You also have a son, right?
- Yes, Torvald. Boys are not born very often in our family, and they never have healing abilities - she explained. - He is an excellent hunter, though.

On nic sobie nie robi z rozmytych traktów. Powiedz tylko, do kogo mam go posłać.
Lady Elaine odetchnęła z wyraźną ulgą.
- Dziękuję, panie. Mój brat to Wielki Mag Percival. Mieszka w...
- Percival?

- Lady Elaine - Ragnvald asked the guest. - I heard that you will stay in Salvia for the winter.
- I guess we have no choice. Your wife, sir, said that the Pass is currently impassable. And I can't imagine returning to Ravenia via the Northern Road and bypassing the mountains from the south.
- Rightly so. The snow will fall any day now. And your daughter is too weak to spend so many days and nights on the road again.
- I know that. I just have to notify my brother somehow. He is expecting me, and I had no way of sending a message in this desolate wilderness through which we were traveling.
- I can help with that - Ragnvald smiled. - We will send a raven. He doesn't care about the blurred roads. Just tell me who to send him to.
Lady Elaine breathed a sigh of relief.
- Thank you, sir. My brother is the Great Mage Percival. He lives in...
- Percival? - Ragnvald was so surprised that he interrupted her in mid-sentence. - Are you the sister of that old geezer Percival? By the gods, I didn't know he had a sister!

- Znacie go?
- To długa historia.

- Don't talk about Percy like that - Tove snapped. - You're the same age!
Elaine listened, stunned.
- Do you know him? - she finally managed to ask.
- Of course! We were in the same year at the Military Academy, both training to be battle mages. Then the whole Arnold thing...- he waved his hand. - It's a long story. Besides, I'm retired now. And I had no idea Percival had a sister. He didn't say anything about you, my lady.

- Wtedy wysłali mnie chyba do Garnizonu Granicznego... - zamyślił się Ragnvald. - Trwały tam zamieszki wywołane przez zbirów Arnolda.
- Ach, wiedziałem, że skądś kojarzę twoje imię, panie! - Hector klepnął się w czoło. - To ty zostałeś najmłodszym oficerem!

- I didn't see you at the Academy, sir - interrupted Hector. - And I trained there too. I started my studies two years later than Percival...
- I think they sent me to the Border Garrison then... - Ragnvald mused. - There were riots there, caused by Arnold's thugs.
- Ah, I knew I recognized your name from somewhere, sir! - Hector slapped his forehead. - You were the youngest officer! After all, training normally lasted 4 years!
- Old times - Ragnvald waved his hand again, but smiled to himself at the memories. He turned back to Lady Elaine. - From what I remember, Percival's mother died just before he arrived for training...

- Yes, she did - Lady Elaine confirmed. - His father remarried. So I'm Percival's half-sister. I was born when he was still at the Academy.
- What a story! - Tove smiled, then turned to her husband. - You must send the raven first thing tomorrow morning. Percy must be worried about his sister and niece!
- Don't worry. The bird will reach him in two, maybe three days. We'll let the old man know his little sister is fine - he smiled at Lady Elaine, who was a little surprised by the sudden familiarity.

Teraz i on będzie cię traktował jak młodszą siostrę.
- To wiele wyjaśnia - westchnęła Lady Elaine. Po czym dodała. - Jestem ogromnie wdzięczna za waszą pomoc.
- Nie ma za co. Uwierz mi pani, Salvia jest całkiem przyjemnym miasteczkiem i myślę, że miło spędzicie tu zimę. Wszystko się ułoży.
O dziwo, Lady Elaine uwierzyła w jej słowa.

Tove put her hand on Lady's shoulder, seeing her uncertain expression.
- Don't be angry, Lady Elaine. My husband and your brother have been through a lot together, they are very good friends. Now he will treat you like a younger sister.
- I just wonder... - the lady began and bit her tongue.
- How is it possible that I know Percy, if I don't look that old? - Tove finished thoughtfully. - Let's just say that healing abilities, twin sisters and red hair are not the only gifts in our family. Herbalists in our family are very long-lived. I won't say, quite a useful gift...
- That explains a lot - Lady Elaine sighed. Then she added. - I am very grateful for your help.
- You are welcome. Believe me, my lady, Salvia is quite a nice town and I think you will spend the winter here pleasantly. Everything will work out.
Surprisingly, Lady Elaine believed her words.

Dorośli siedzieli, jedli, pili i słuchali Ingvara grającego coraz to nowe ballady.

The Winter Solstice celebrations dragged on until late, after all it was the longest night of the year. Even the children were reluctant to go to bed, though they were eventually coaxed into sleep. The adults sat, ate, drank, and listened to Ingvar playing ballads.

Spędźcie go w radosnej, rodzinnej atmosferze. Odpocznijcie. Wesołego świętowania!

How do you like the stories from the world of little witches? :)

Of course we will return to their adventures, although I have to prepare the next posts. I won't lie, they are quite time-consuming. ;) However, I had a lot of fun during this session. What's more, there were no disasters in the form of dolls falling over like dominoes - fortunately the party was seated. ;) In the meantime, visit Jo's blog, because there are still various things happening in the Old Castle and not only there. In a moment both stories will connect and many threads will be explained.

That's all for today. All that remains for me is to wish you all the best for this holiday season. Spend it in a joyful, family atmosphere. Relax. Happy celebrations!

Wiedźmi Świat, Zimowe Przesilenie cz. 2 | Witch World, Winter Solstice Part 2

Poprzednie wpisy z historiami z Wiedźmiego Świata:
Na szlaku,
Salvia,
Zimowe Przesilenie cz. 1.

Previous posts with stories from the Witch World:

On the Trail,
Salvia,
Winter Solstice Part 1.

And of course, I invite you to visit Jo's blog, Witch World - there the entire story from both of our doll lands is collected in one place.

The feast was in full swing. The table was laden with pots and bowls full of delicious dishes. The Herbalist witches also proved to be excellent cooks. The guests from Korundia ate with pleasure. Hector and Albert praised loudly everything they put on their plates.

- To prawda - skinęła głową Linette.
Lady Elaine z ulgą patrzyła na córkę. Gorączka minęła, napar Zielarki zdziałał cuda.

- Even the royal cook didn't make such a delicious turkey stew - Mona whispered to Linette. The girl regained her appetite and ate for two.
- That's true - Linette nodded.
Lady Elaine looked at her daughter with relief. The fever had passed, the Herbalist's brew had worked wonders.

Across the table, the laughter of children was loud. The youngest, Hilde, laughed at the faces her older brother Sven made at her. The twins, Gerda and Agnes, Sigrid's daughters, joined in with her giggling like little imps.

The table was noisy and joyful, and the atmosphere of celebration was felt by everyone.

Albert quickly found common ground with Sigrid's husband. It turned out that Johan was an armorer. They discussed the superiority of swords forged by Skagelard masters over any other weapon. Johan learned to forge weapons under the supervision of the oldest master armourer in Salvia and it was obvious that it was his great passion.

- To najlepszy żurek, jaki w życiu jadłem!
- Ugotowała go Miriam, moja żona.

- This is the best sour rye soup I've ever eaten! - Hector couldn't stop praising the soup, which he devoured in a flash.
- Miriam, my wife, cooked it. I assure you, you won't find a better one anywhere - Harald laughed, clearly pleased with the guest's words.

Pozdrawiam Was gorąco!

After everyone had eaten, discussions on various topics broke out.

To be continued.

As you can see, I didn't finish on the part 2, because I took so, so many photos. There will be a third part. And... it will probably be the most interesting, you will learn about several threads of history. ;)

Warm greetings to you!

Wiedźmi Świat, Zimowe Przesilenie cz. 1 | Witch World, Winter Solstice Part 1

Poprzednie wpisy z historiami z Wiedźmiego Świata:
- Na szlaku,
- Salvia.

Aurora pojechała do gospody, aby przyprowadzić gości z dalekiej Korundii. I właśnie pojawili się w drzwiach dużej sali.

Previous posts with stories from the Witch World:
- On the Trail,
- Salvia.

And the whole story on Jo's blog - I invite you to the Witch World.

Meanwhile in Salvia, in Tove and Ragnvald's house, everyone is waiting for the Winter Solstice feast to begin. Almost the entire family of red-haired witches has gathered. Also present were family friend Margaret and Tove's son's mother-in-law, Gertrude.

Aurora went to the inn to bring guests from distant Korundia. And they just appeared in the doorway of the large hall.

Everyone turned curiously towards the door at the sight of the guests. They knew who was coming and couldn't wait. It was rare for anyone from the capital of a neighboring kingdom to come here. They hoped to hear news from distant lands.

- Witaj, ptaszyno. Jak się czujesz?
- Dużo lepiej pani Zielarko. Dziękuję.
- Witajcie, jestem Ragnvald - pan domu wstał i przywitał nowoprzybyłych. - Siadajcie, siadajcie.

Tove turned and smiled warmly at the sight of Mona. The girl looked much better.
- Hello, little bird. How are you feeling?
- Much better, Lady Herbalist. Thank you.
- Hello, I'm Ragnvald - the master of the house stood up and greeted the new arrivals. - Sit down, sit down.

Lady Elaine sat down at the indicated seat. She looked around the room and the people gathered there with curiosity. She hadn't expected so many people! She noticed that the woman sitting opposite must be the Herbalist's twin sister - they looked almost like two peas in a pod. At the other end of the table sat a flame-haired girl who looked like a mirror image of Aurora. The two youngest red-haired girls and the two older women must also have been twins. Extraordinary... Intrigued, she decided that she would ask about it as soon as the opportunity arose.

Tove returned from the kitchen, carrying a large basket of freshly baked bread. Aurora, with her niece in her arms, was pushing her way to her seat.

- Świętujemy dziś odrodzenie słońca i powrót dłuższych dni.

Once everyone was seated, Ragnvald and Tove stood at the head of the table.
- Tonight is the longest night of the year - Ragnvald began, and everyone turned to him. - Today we celebrate the rebirth of the sun and the return of longer days. I'm so glad that we are all gathered here together. I know everyone is hungry, so I will make this short. I wish you a happy Winter Solstice!

;) A więc - ciąg dalszy nastąpi!

Pozdrawiam Was serdecznie!

I decided to split the Solstice celebration post into two parts so as not to overwhelm you with a huge amount of photos at once. ;) So - more to come!

I greet you warmly!
