Choć moja kolekcja to spory misz-masz i mam lalki przeróżne, to jeśli chodzi o część Barbiową jest ona dosyć spójna. Są w niej raczej lalki nowsze, z ostatnich 10-15 lat. Najbardziej lubię lalki zrobione na podobieństwo aktorek oraz z linii kolekcjonerskich, o ciekawych twarzach. Mam też kilka ślicznych playlinowych panien (z serii Extra oraz Fashionistek). Trafiło się też parę nieco starszych (np. Totally Hair lub Barbie SupersSize), ale generalnie trzymam się raczej tej "nowoczesnej" grupy.
Zawsze ogromnie podobały mi się pierwsze lalki Barbie, oglądam je zachwytem, jednak nigdy nie myślałam nawet o szukaniu takiej panny w celu dołączenia jej do mojej gromadki. Lalka, którą przywiozłam z Paryża, zrobiona z okazji 60-ciolecia Barbie w zupełności zaspokajała moją potrzebę posiadania tego typu okazu u siebie na półce. I pewnie tak by zostało, gdyby nie moja koleżanka.
Przywiozła mi prawdziwy skarb. Lalki, które dostała od swojej cioci na początku lat 80-tych, a które owa ciocia miała od swojego dzieciństwa. I to w walizce, z niesamowitą wyprawką...
Today I will show you something different than usual.
Although my collection is quite a mish-mash and I have various dolls, when it comes to the Barbie part it is quite consistent. Rather, there are newer dolls from the last 10-15 years. I like the most dolls made in the image of actresses and from collector's lines, with interesting faces. I also have some lovely playline ladies (from the Extra series and Fashionistas). There were also some slightly older ones (such as Totally Hair or Barbie SupersSize), but generally I stick to this "modern" group.
I've always liked the first Barbie dolls enormously, I watch them with delight, but I never even thought about looking for such a girl to join my group. The doll I brought from Paris, made for the 60th anniversary of Barbie, fully satisfied my need for this type of specimen on my shelf. And it probably would have been if it hadn't been for my friend.
She brought me a real treasure. Dolls that she got from her aunt in the early 1980s and that the aunt had had from her childhood. And they are in a suitcase, with an amazing wardrobe...

Ta, która do mnie trafiła jest nieco podniszczona, muszę wymyślić coś, co pozwoli mi ją odnowić.
The photos I am showing you here were taken more than a year ago. Yes, it took me so long to publish this post... In addition, I still haven't finished restoring the dolls, much less the outfits.
Everything need refreshing and some repairs, but for things that turned 60 (apart from Superstar), and which were just for fun for many years, it's still perfect!
As for the suitcase itself, such miracles were released by Mattel in 1961-1968. But this particular one, Barbie and Ken Trunk, came out in 1963. The one that came to me is a bit worn out, I have to come up with something that will allow me to renew it.

Zacznę od czarnowłosej, co chyba Was nie zdziwi. Początkowo myślałam, że jest to lalka z wspomnianej wyżej walizki. Według opisu na stronie, którą znalazłam - to właśnie brunetka Bubblecut Barbie miała być częścią zestawu (mając do pary Kena blondyna).
And there were four such girls in the suitcase. I'm already telling you what I learned about them.
I will start with the black-haired girl, and I think it won't surprise you. At first I thought it was a doll from the suitcase mentioned above. According to the description on the page I found - it was the brunette Bubblecut Barbie that was supposed to be part of the set (having a blonde Ken for the pair).
Jednak sygnatura na tym szlachetnym miejscu, gdzie kończą się plecy, mówi co innego. Znalazłam kolejną bardzo ciekawą stronę z identyfikacją lalek Barbie i tam są również opisane sygnatury. I ta, którą ma moja panna (Barbie ® Pats. Pend. © MCMLVIII by Mattel Inc.) pojawiała się na lalkowych zadkach w 1961 roku. Te lalki miały kostiumy w biało-czarne pasy. Z kolei czerwony strój kąpielowy miały lalki z 1962 i 1963. Ostatecznie nie jestem więc pewna, z którego roku i jakiego zestawu jest owa panna, ale może kiedyś się dowiem.
However, the signature at that noble place where the back ends says something different. I found another very interesting page with Barbie doll identification and the signatures are also described there. And the one my lady has (Barbie® Pats. Pend. © MCMLVIII by Mattel Inc.) has appeared on doll's bottoms in 1961. These dolls were dressed in black and white striped swimsuits. In turn, red swimsuits were worn by dolls from 1962 and 1963. So in the end I'm not sure which year and what set the lady is from, but maybe I'll find out someday.
Niestety panna Bubblecut miała założone kolczyki (w dodatku nie swoje, bo z tego co widziałam w sieci, to lalki te miały małe perełki) i co gorsza zaszła reakcja z tworzywem głowy. Po obu stronach, przy uszach ma dwie wielkie, zielone plamy. Nie jest jakimś wyjątkiem, bo to dosyć powszechna bolączka starszych lalek.
Unfortunately, Miss Bubblecut was wearing earrings (in addition, not her own, because from what I saw on the web, these dolls had little pearls) and what was worse there was a reaction with the material of the head. She has two large green stains on both sides around her ears. She is no exception, as it is quite a common problem with older dolls.
Miałam nadzieję na ratunek przy użyciu maści z nadtlenkiem benzoilu. I tak od września ubiegłego roku do maja roku bieżącego łepetyna leżała upaćkana maścią. W różnych konfiguracjach - luzem (maść schła, a ja wymieniałam co parę dni na nową warstwę), w folii, w przezroczystym szczelnym pudełku itd. Nic to jednak nie dało. Może (choć to chyba jedynie moje gorące życzenie) odrobinę zieleń zbladła. Ale nie zniknęła. Znalazłam na amerykańskich forach pewien specyfik i mam nadzieję, że uda mi się go sprowadzić i odratować łepetynkę. Dam Wam znać, jeśli plan się powiedzie.
I was hoping to be saved by using benzoyl peroxide ointment. And so, from September last year to May this year, the head was covered with it. In various configurations - loose (the ointment dried and I replaced it with a new layer every few days), in foil, in a transparent, tight box, etc. However, it didn't help. Maybe (although this is probably just my wish) the green has faded a bit. But it didn't disappear. I found a certain product on American forums and I hope that I will be able to import it and save the head. I'll let you know if the plan works.
Druga panna to American Character Tressy Doll 1964. Również i o tych lalkach znalazłam sporo informacji na stronie Doll Reference. Lalki te miały "rosnące" włosy. Mechanizm jednak już nie działa, a boję się kręcić nim na siłę. Same włosy są jednak w fantastycznym stanie.
Sukienka, w którą jest ubrana to część zestawu Evening Splendour 1964 od Mattela, ale wśród ubrań w walizce jest również jej oryginalna, czerwona sukienka z białą lamówką.
The second lady is American Character Tressy Doll 1964. I also found a lot of information about these dolls on the Doll Reference website. These dolls had "growing" hair. But the mechanism doesn't work anymore, and I'm afraid to force it. The hair itself, however, is in fantastic condition.
The dress she is wearing is part of the 1964 Evening Splendor Mattel's set, but among the clothes in the suitcase is her original red dress with white trim.
Trzecia lalka to klonik. Ale również z lat 60-tych. I powiem Wam, że jej ciałko jest wykonane o wiele porządniej od współczesnych lalek. ;)

Panna klonik ubrana jest w zestaw Barbie Friday Night Date (1960-1964). Nie jest on kompletny, brakuje czarnych szpilek, tacy oraz dwóch szklanek soku pomarańczowego ze słomkami.
The third doll is a clone. But also from the 60's. And let me tell you that her body is much more neat than modern dolls. ;)

Miss clone wears a Barbie Friday Night Date (1960-1964) set. It's not complete, there are black highheels, a tray and two glasses of orange juice with straws missing.
Ostatnia lalka jest nieco bardziej współczesna, choć też już można ją zaliczyć do kategorii "vintage". To Island Fun Tropical Barbie 1988. Włosy już jej wymyłam, są w naprawdę dobrym stanie. Jednak co porządny saran, to porządny saran. Zestaw, w który jest ubrana sprawił mi najwięcej kłopotu z identyfikacją. Razem z koleżanką przez dobre pół godziny (albo dłużej) wpisywałyśmy przeróżne hasła, zanim udało nam się go znaleźć. To Satin 'n Rose 1964. Są do niego jeszcze spodnie, brakuje jednak kolczyków, toczka i szpilek.
The last doll is a bit more modern, although it can also be classified as "vintage". It's Island Fun Tropical Barbie 1988. I've already washed her hair, it's in really good condition. But a decent saran is a decent saran. The set she is wearing gave me the most trouble with identification. My friend and I typed various inquiries for a good half an hour (or longer) before we could find it. This is Satin 'n Rose 1964. There are also pants for it, but no earrings, pillbox hat and shoes.
Co do reszty ubrań, to i tutaj są cuda. Najbardziej zachwyca mnie chyba czerwony płaszcz z zestawu Red Flare (1962-1965). A pasuje do niego sukienka z Silken Flame (1960-1961). Zaskoczeniem było dla mnie to, że w latach 60-tych to były dwa osobne zestawu ubrań. Dopiero reprodukcja lalki Bubblecut z 1998 roku występuję z całym kompletem na raz. As for the rest of the clothes, there are miracles here too. I'm most delighted with the red coat from the Red Flare set (1962-1965). And a dress from Silken Flame (1960-1961) suits him. It was a surprise to me that in the 60's there were two separate sets of clothes. Only the 1998 reproduction of the Bubblecut doll is present with the entire set at once. Są i inne zestawy, mniej lub bardziej kompletne. W lepszym lub gorszym stanie. Większość z nich produkcji Mattela z lat 60-tych. Na razie nie będę ich tutaj wszystkich opisywać. Mam nadzieję sukcesywnie je odnawiać, odświeżać i prezentować już na "odmłodzonych" lalkach. :)
There are other sets, more or less complete. In better or worse condition. Most of them are Mattel's production from the 60's. For now, I won't describe them all here. I hope to renew them successively, refresh them and present them on "rejuvenated" dolls. :)
Plan jest taki, że każda z panien dostanie swój post w momencie, gdy już doprowadzę je do stanu "witrynowego". :) Co do strojów - może być różnie, największy problem będzie z odnowieniem poprzecieranej satyny. Nie umniejsza to jednak mojej radości - w życiu nie przypuszczałam, że takie klasyki trafią na moją półkę. :) Choć nadszarpnięte czasem - dla mnie są skarbami. I jestem przeogromnie wdzięczna, że do mnie trafiły.

The plan is that each of the ladies will get her own post the moment I bring them to the "glass-case" state. :) As for the costumes - it can be more difficult, the biggest problem will be restoring worn satin. However, this does not diminish my joy - in my life I never thought that such classics would stand on my shelf. :) Although damaged by time - they are treasures for me. And I'm so grateful that they came to me.
