Horse Riding Barbie 1997

Tytułowa panna o moldzie Superstar pojawiła się u mnie ponad 4 lata temu. Do tej pory jednak nie dostała swoich pięciu minut i dedykowanego jej postu. Przyszedł czas, aby to zmienić.

The titular lady with the Superstar head mold appeared to me over 4 years ago. So far, however, she has not received her five minutes and a post dedicated to her. The time has come to change that.

Latem zeszłego roku udało mi się przerzucić sporo lalek z lat 90-tych i początku dwutysięcznych na ruchome ciałka. Pisałam o tym we wpisie z sierpnia. Wspominałam tam, że Horse Riding Barbie 1997 to jedna z moich ulubionych odsłon moldu Superstar. Głównie ze względu na to, że oprawiony został w piękne, brązowe włosy.

Last summer I managed to switch a lot of dolls from the 90s and early 2000s on articulated bodies. I wrote about it in an August post. I mentioned there that Horse Riding Barbie 1997 is one of my favorite versions of the Superstar mold. Mainly due to the fact that it was framed in beautiful brown hair.

Od dawna zbierałam się do uszycia spódnic z wysoką talią, kieszeniami i guzikami na froncie. Trwało to co prawda o wiele za długo, ale wreszcie się udało. Zdecydowałam się na cieniutką bawełnę. Choć ten materiał dosyć mocno się mnie, to uszyta z niego spódnica w skali 1/6 wygląda naprawdę fajnie. Jak na razie powstały dwie wersje kolorystyczne - brązowa i morska.

For a long time I've been trying to sew a skirt with a high waist, pockets and buttons on the front. It took way too long, but I finally did it. I opted for a thin cotton fabric. Althoug this fabric wrinkles easily, the 1/6 scale skirt made of it looks really cool. So far, I made two color versions - brown and teal.

Szyjąc spódnice w stylu vintage wiedziałam, że śliczna Superstarka będzie doskonałą modelką do takiej kreacji.

Sewing skirts in vintage style, I knew that the beautiful Superstar would be the perfect model for such an outfit.

If any of you are wondering what kind of bush it is in the background - it's a blooming pieris.

A na tle fiołków zaprezentuję wersję w brązach. Która bardziej przypadła Wam do gustu?

Tyle na dziś. Zmarzłam okrutnie podczas zdjęć, bo u mnie dziś ledwie 7°C i wieje okropnie. Nie rozpieszcza nas ta wiosna...

60-te urodziny Barbie | Barbie's 60th Birthday

Choć na naszych blogach pojawiają się przeróżne lalki małe i duże - Barbie zdecydowanie plasuje się w czołówce. Dziś mija 60 lat odkąd opanowała serca dzieci i kolekcjonerów na całym świecie. 

Oczywiście w Lalkowym Kalendarzu Szarej Sowy nie mogło zabraknąć tego dnia. :)

9 marca to Międzynarodowy Dzień Lalki Barbie. Tego dnia, w 1959 roku zadebiutowała na targach zabawek w Nowym Jorku. Większość z Was pewnie wie, że stworzyła ją Ruth Handler. Ciekawe informacje znajdziecie np. tutaj. A na stronie Mattela zrobili całkiem fajną linię czasu.

Wciąż przymierzam się do książki "Barbie i Ruth" - jeszcze mi się nie udało po nią sięgnąć.

Dzisiejsze kreacje prezentują dwie modelki, które wybrałam na tą okazję z kilku powodów. 

Po pierwsze obie mają mold Superstar. Wiele osób uważa, że to najpiękniejsze twarzyczki Barbie. Na pewno bardzo charakterystyczne, nie ma chyba nikogo (mówię tu także o tych osobach, które nie interesują się lalkami), kto nie rozpoznałaby tej lalki.

Po drugie obie pochodzą z początku lat 90. To był mniej więcej czas, kiedy dostałam swoją pierwszą lalkę Barbie i to właśnie te panny kojarzą mi się z dzieciństwem. 

Po trzecie nikt tak jak one nie nosi różu. A jaki inny kolor mogłam wybrać z tej okazji? No przecież tylko róż. ;)

Chciałam, aby sukienki kojarzyły się właśnie ze stylem lat 80-tych i 90-tych, kiedy królował róż, tiul i brokat.

There are so many dolls on our blogs - big and small. But Barbie is definitely in the lead here. Today is 60 years since she took over the hearts of kids and collectors all over the world.

This day appears in Grey Owl's Doll Calendar of course. :)

9th of March is International Barbie Day. On this day, in 1959, she debuted on Toy Fair in New York. Most of you probably know that she was created by Ruth Handler. You can find intresting information here. And there is really fun time line on Mattel's website.

I chose models that present these two dresses today for few reasons.

First of all - they both have Superstar head mold. Many people think that this is the most beautiful face of all Barbie dolls. It's super characteristic - that's for sure! I suppose there is nobody (and I'm talking about people who are not intrested in dolls also) who doesn't recognize her.

Secondly they are both from the beginning of 90's. That was the time when I got my first Barbie doll and that's why they remind me of my childhood.

Thirdly - nobody can wear pink like they can. And what other colour could I choose for this occasion? Only pink. ;)

I wanted both dresses to represent the style of 80's and 90's. So there is a lot of pink, tulle and glitter.

I jeszcze na koniec zdjęcie w duecie. Obie buźki podobne, ale jednak widać między nimi różnice.

And as a duo in the end. They have similar looking faces and yet there are some diffrences.
