Ale od początku.
Z zewnątrz niewiele się zmieniło względem poprzedniego wpisu. Między innymi dokończyłam framugi okienne.
But from the beginning.
From the outside, not much has changed compared to the previous entry. Among other things, I finished the window frames.
Okleiłam deskami lukarny. Tu chciałam pokazać, jak nie zawsze idealnie wychodzi mi dopasowanie owych desek. ;)
Staram się maksymalnie wykorzystywać patyczki, czasami zabraknie więc milimetra tu czy tam. Takich kawałków używam w miejscach, które później i tak zostaną zamaskowane dodatkowymi listwami. Tak było np. przy lukarnach.
I covered the dormers with boards. Here I wanted to show how I don't always perfectly match these boards. ;)
I try to use the sticks as much as possible, so sometimes there will be a millimeter missing here or there. I use such pieces in places that will later be masked with additional laths. This was the case, for example, with dormers.
Przeszłam z robotami do środka budynku.
I tu jeszcze jeden przykład tego, jak budowanie bez dokładnego projektu może nie do końca się sprawdzać. ;) Lukarny od środka. Robiąc je w ogóle nie pomyślałam o tym, że przecież będę kleiła framugi okienne również wewnątrz. Tzn. może i pomyślałam, ale niewiele to dało. ;)

I moved with the works inside the house.
And here is one more example of how building without a detailed design may not quite work. ;) Dormers from the inside. While making them, I didn't even think about the fact that I would be gluing window frames also inside. Well, I thought maybe, but it didn't help much. ;)
As you can see in the photo below - no frame will fit here...
Musiałam poszerzyć wnękę wycinając karton. Na szczęście lukarny oklejone już od zewnątrz deskami zniosły to naprawdę dobrze. Nic się nie rozleciało. Brzegi kartonu przy skosach okleiłam skrawkami papieru pakowego, przymierzyłam framugę i jakoś udało się uratować sytuację.
I had to widen the niche by cutting cardboard. Fortunately, the dormers, already covered with boards from the outside, endured it really well. Nothing fell apart. I glued the edges of the cardboard at the slants with scraps of wrapping paper, tried on the window frame and somehow managed to save the situation.
Następnie przeszłam do klejenia podłogi. A z tą podłogą to było tak. Pierwotnie planowałam zrobić ją najpierw z kartonu, a dopiero później okleić deskami. Przez kilka dni zastanawiałam się, jak właściwie ugryźć ten temat, aż którejś nocy przyśniło mi się rozwiązanie. xD
Po co i na co mam tam dawać karton? To wymagałoby oklejenia desek i od strony parteru (bo chciałam mieć drewniany strop), i od strony piętra (bo chciałam drewnianą podłogę). To przecież łatwiej, szybciej i lżej będzie zrobić to z jednej warstwy desek, bez kartonu. Koncepcja przyśniła mi się mgliście, ale udało mi się to jakoś przełożyć na rzeczywistość. ;)
Then I moved on to gluing the floor. And I'm telling you right now how it was with this floor. Originally, I planned to make it first out of cardboard and then cover it with boards. For several days I was wondering how to properly take up the subject, until one night I dreamed of the solution. xD
Why, oh why should I put cardboard there? This would require gluing the boards both on the ground floor (because I wanted a wooden ceiling) and on the first floor (because I wanted a wooden floor). After all, it will be easier, faster and lighter to do it from one layer of boards, without cardboard. The concept was a vague dream for me, but somehow I managed to make it real. ;)
Zaczęłam od przyklejenia listw na granicy parteru i piętra, które miały stanowić konstrukcję nośną. Następnie zaczęłam układać deski od strony frontowego wykuszu. Tutaj miały najlepsze podparcie.
I started by gluing laths on the border of the ground floor and first floor, which were supposed to be a load-bearing structure. Then I started laying the boards from the side of the front oriel window. Here they had the best support.
Kiedy miałam już kawałek podłogi we wnęce - przykleiłam pierwszy legar z kantówki 1x1 cm.
When I had a piece of floor in the niche - I glued the first 1x1 cm (0,4 x 0,4 inch) square timber joist.

Pierwszy legar dał z kolei więcej podparcia pod kolejne deski. I tak na zmianę doklejałam to deski, to legary. A podłoga powoli rosła.
The first joist, in turn, gave more support for the next boards. And so I alternately glued boards and joists. And the floor slowly rose.
Tak samo po drugiej stronie domu, nad pomieszczeniem z potrójnym oknem, w którym będzie pracownia.
The same on the other side of the house, above the room with bay window, where the study will be.
Trwało to dosyć długo, ze względu na ograniczoną możliwość przyłapania kolejnych klejonych elementów. Przez dwa (albo i trzy) dni kręcąc się po domu (pomiędzy gotowaniem, a sprzątaniem) przyklejałam dwie deski tu, dwie tam, legar z jednej strony, później z drugiej i tak dalej.
Na tych zdjęciach widać dokładnie, jaki bałagan panował przez ten cały czas na parterze. Nie zamierzam Was przecież oszukiwać - dokładnie tak było, bo po prostu musiałam mieć dużo rzeczy pod ręką, a nie bardzo widziałam możliwość rozstawiania tego po całym domu. xD
It took quite a long time, due to the limited possibility of catching subsequent glued elements. For two (or three) days, hanging around the house (between cooking and cleaning) I glued two boards here, two there, a joist on one side, then on the other and so on.
In these photos you can see exactly what kind of mess was on the ground floor all this time. I'm not going to lie to you - that's exactly how it was, because I just had to have a lot of stuff at hand, and I didn't really see the possibility of placing it all over the house. xD
Nad kuchnią strop jest nad całym pomieszczeniem z wyjątkiem otworu, w którym będą schody - to ten, gdzie wystaje gałąź, która docelowo ma być centralnym elementem schodów.
Above the kitchen, the ceiling is over the entire room, except for the hole where the stairs will be - it is the one where the branch sticks out, which is ultimately to be the central element of the stairs.

Minusem mojego wyśnionego rozwiązania jest to, że podłoga jest dosyć delikatna. Utrzyma całkiem przyzwoity ciężar, ale deski są cienkie i obawiam się, że gwałtowne oparcie się lub inne tego typu ekscesy spowodowałyby natychmiastową katastrofę. Z tego względu dorobiłam dwa zastrzały przy przeciwległych ścianach. Trochę pomogło, ale sam środek podłogi nadal jest newralgicznym miejscem. Być może na sam koniec dodam tu jakiś filar, dla świętego spokoju. Na razie niczego tu nie wstawiam, żeby nie ograniczyć sobie dostępu do parteru.
The downside of my dream solution is that the floor is quite delicate. It will hold a pretty decent weight, but the boards are thin, and I'm afraid that a violent leaning or other such excesses would cause immediate disaster. For this reason, I made two struts on opposite walls. It helped a little, but the very center of the floor is still a sensitive place. Perhaps at the very end I will add a pillar here, for peace of mind. For now, I'm not adding anything here, so as not to limit my access to the ground floor.
Po drugiej stronie domu, nad pracownią, postanowiłam zrobić antresolę. Początkowo taki plan miałam na oba górne pomieszczenia, ale stwierdziłam, że zbyt zmniejszę sobie powierzchnię na miliard różnych rzeczy, które zamierzam upchnąć na piętrze. xD Kompromis więc jest taki, że po jednej stronie antresola jest, a po drugiej nie.
On the other side of the house, above the study, I decided to make a mezzanine. Originally, that was the plan I had for both upper rooms, but I decided that I would have too little space for a billion different things that I plan to cram upstairs. xD So the compromise is that there is a mezzanine on one side and not on the other.
Początkowo w pracowni miało być jedno drzewo. Po zmianie koncepcji stropu postanowiłam dodać drugie, żeby choć tutaj rozwiązać sprawę podparcia tego, co będzie na piętrze. Miałam odłożoną jeszcze jedną gałąź platana o odpowiednim kształcie. I oczywiście - bo jakże by inaczej - źle ją docięłam... Brakuje ok. centymetra, a może nawet i więcej. Najpierw się zirytowałam (delikatnie rzecz ujmując), ale później po przegadaniu sprawy z Córką, Siostrą i Mężem (tak, tak - mam wielu konsultantów xD) doszłam do wniosku, że coś da się zrobić. O ile na owym "drzewie" ma mieszkać sowa (specjalnie zostawiłam kilka kołków po bocznych gałązkach), to pod nim będzie mieszkał wąż. Jakiś na pewno z chęcią wprowadzi się do wiedźmy. ;)
Drzewo zostanie więc obudowane u podstawy swego rodzaju kamienną donicą, w której będzie lokum gadziny. xD
Initially, there was supposed to be one tree in the studio. After changing the concept of the ceiling, I decided to add a second one, to at least solve the issue of supporting what will be on the first floor. I had another plane tree branch of the right shape set aside. And of course - because how else - I cut it wrong ... About a centimeter is missing, and maybe even more. At first I was annoyed (to put it mildly), but later after talking the matter over with my Daughter, Sister and Husband (yes, yes - I have many consultants xD) I came to the conclusion that something can be done. While an owl is supposed to live on this "tree" (I left a few pegs on the sides on purpose), a snake will live under it. I'm sure some would love to move in with the witch. ;)
The tree will therefore be enclosed at the base with a kind of stone pot, in which reptile will dwell. xD
