Aldara patrzyła w okno i złapała się na tym, że po raz kolejny przypomina sobie treść listu, który niedawno otrzymała od Lady Elaine. Jego treść zaskoczyła ją bardziej, niż chciałaby to przyznać, nawet sama przed sobą. Elaine pisała:

Droga Aldaro,
Trafiłam na zagadkę, której nie umiem rozwikłać. I pomyślałam o Tobie. A dokładniej o historii, którą mi kiedyś opowiadałaś. Ale po kolei.

Otóż w Zamku mojego Brata Persivala spotkałam tutejszą Zielarkę. Wyglądającą IDENTYCZNIE jak Margaret z Salvii!!! ZIELARKA! Podobno niezwykle uzdolniona! I… pochodząca z Kinslenaaru!
Wygląda dokładnie, jak Margaret. Mówi jak ona. Ma identyczne gesty i wyraz twarzy. Wszystkie trzy: ja, moja córka i służąca, byłyśmy tym wstrząśnięte.
Nie wierzę w przypadkowe podobieństwa. Poza tym, przypomniała mi się historia, którą wieki temu opowiadałaś mi podczas festynu letniego u królowej. O znalezionych bliźniaczkach… Czy to możliwe, ze to są te dwie dziewczyny?
Na razie nikomu nic nie mówiłam, a i mojej Linette nakazałam milczenie. Mona ma ważniejsze sprawy na głowie – kruki, drzewa w sadzie i towarzystwo dzieci tutejszej kucharki. Nic nie zostało z dawnej Panny Mony… Ale nie wiem, czy to źle… Może w tym nowym życiu będzie jej lepiej?
Ściskam Cię serdecznie. Pozdrów ogromnie moją drogą Ellinor. Mam nadzieję, że nasze drogi ponownie się spotkają.

Aldara stared out the window and found herself recalling the letter she'd recently received from Lady Elaine. Its contents surprised her more than she'd like to admit, even to herself. Elaine wrote:

Dear Aldara,

I've stumbled upon a riddle I can't solve. And I thought of you. Or more precisely, a story you once told me. But first things first.

Well, in my Brother Persival's Castle, I met the local Herbalist. She looked IDENTICALLY like Margaret of Salvia!!! A HERBALTIST! Apparently incredibly talented! And... from Kinslenaar!

She looks exactly like Margaret. She speaks like her. Her gestures and facial expressions are identical. All three of us: myself, my daughter, and the maid were shocked.

I don't believe in coincidences. Besides, I remembered a story you told me centuries ago during the Queen's summer festival. About the found twins... Is it possible that these are the two girls?

For now, I haven't told anyone, and I've also ordered my Linette to keep quiet. Mona has more important things on her mind – the ravens, the trees in the orchard, and the company of the local cook's children. Nothing remains of the old Miss Mona... But I don't know if that's a bad thing... Perhaps she'll be better off in this new life?

Bliźnięta... Kiedy to było? Tyle lat temu... Wracała wtedy z Wielkiej Puszczy, gdzie była z wizytą u królowej Rei jako emisariuszka od królowej Ellinor. Pamiętała ich matkę jak przez mgłę. Młoda kobieta, której imienia nawet nie poznała. Natknęła się na nią na puszczańskim szlaku. Była w wysokiej ciąży, całkiem sama, chora. Przygarnęła ją do swego orszaku i chciała pomóc dotrzeć do najbliższej osady - jednak podczas pierwszego postoju w Puszczy kobieta zaczęła rodzić. Nie przeżyła porodu i dwie maleńkie dziewczynki zostały sierotami. Tak się złożyło, że podróżowała wtedy z drugą emisariuszką, z Kislenaaru. Starszą kobietą, która postanowiła zabrać jedno z niemowląt i oddać pod opiekę swojej wnuczce, która nie mogła mieć dzieci. Aldara nie miała wyjścia i wzięła ze sobą drugie z dzieci, choć nie wyobrażała sobie, by przeżyło drogę do Skogborgu. Na szczęście, dwa dni później dotarli do Salvii i tam zostawiła dziewczynkę pod opieką starej Zielarki. Jak ona miała na imię? Hedwiga? Chyba Hedwiga...

Twins... When was that? So many years ago... She was returning from the Great Forest, where she had been visiting Queen Rei as an emissary from Queen Ellinor. She hardly remembered their mother. A young woman whose name she didn't even know. She had stumbled upon her on a forest trail. She was heavily pregnant, alone, and ill. She took her into her entourage and wanted to help her reach the nearest settlement - but during their first night stop in the Forest, the woman went into labor. She did not survive the birth, and the two little girls were orphaned. It so happened that she was traveling with another emissary, from Kislenaar. An elderly woman who had decided to take one of the infants and entrust it to the care of her granddaughter, who was unable to have children. Aldara had no choice but to take the other child with her, though she couldn't imagine it surviving the journey to Skogborg. Fortunately, two days later, they reached Salvia, and there she left the girl in the care of an old Herbalist. What was her name? Hedwig? She was almost sure it was Hedwig...

Dopiero później, w stolicy, wśród rzeczy zmarłej kobiety (ktoś wrzucił je na wóz i zapomniano o nich aż do momentu, gdy wrócili na zamek) znalazła dwa naszyjniki z kamieni księżycowych. Pięknie wykonane, oprawione w srebro. Skąd ta samotna kobieta je miała? Skąd wiedziała, że urodzi dwie córeczki? Pytań było zdecydowanie więcej, niż odpowiedzi.

Only later, in the capital, among the dead woman's belongings (someone had thrown them into a cart and forgotten about them until they returned to the castle), did she find two moonstone necklaces. Beautifully crafted, set in silver. Where had this lonely woman gotten them? How had she known she would give birth to two daughters? There were definitely more questions than answers.

Po otrzymaniu listu od Elaine znalazła oba naszyjniki, które zapomniane przeleżały na dnie kufra tyle lat. Kazała zrobić dwie identyczne szkatułki i napisała dwa listy. Czuła, że musi wysłać te księżycowe wisiory do prawowitych właścicielek. Napisała już listy z krótkim wyjaśnieniem, choć... Tak naprawdę nie wyjaśniały nic. Miała nadzieję, że dwie młode zielarki same odnajdą odpowiedzi. I muszą dowiedzieć się o tym, że są siostrami.

After receiving Elaine's letter, she found both necklaces, which had lain forgotten at the bottom of a trunk for so many years. She had two identical boxes made and wrote two letters. She felt compelled to send these moon pendants to their rightful owners. She had already written letters with a brief explanation, though... they didn't really explain anything. She hoped the two young herbalists would find the answers themselves. And they needed to learn that they were sisters.

Aldara zamknęła obie szkatułki odpychając od siebie poczucie winy, że zapomniała o dzieciach z Puszczy. Przez tyle lat nawet nie zastanowiła się, co się z nimi dzieje. Owszem, miała na głowie sprawy Królestwa... Niemniej jednak wyrzuty sumienia, raz obudzone, nie dały się uciszyć tak łatwo.

Aldara closed both boxes, pushing aside the guilt of forgetting about the children from the Forest. For so many years, she hadn't even considered what had become of them. Sure, she had the Kingdom's affairs on her mind... Nevertheless, the pangs of conscience, once awakened, were not so easily silenced.

Usłyszała pukanie do drzwi i z ulgą odwróciła się od niewesołych myśli.

- Wejść! - powiedziała niegłośno. 

She heard a knock on the door and turned away from her gloomy thoughts with relief.
- Come in! - she said quietly.

Do jej komnaty weszła ładna, czarnowłosa dziewczyna. Z uśmiechem skinęła głową i powiedziała:

- Ciociu Aldaro, królowa Cię wzywa. Przybyli gońcy z wiadomościami. Chce, żebyś posłuchała wieści, ponoć na granicy z Kislenaarem znów jest jakieś zamieszanie. I mieszkańcy Puszczy zaczynają się niepokoić.

A pretty, black-haired girl entered her chamber. She nodded with a smile and said:

- Aunt Aldara, the queen is summoning you. Messengers have arrived with news. She wants you to listen to the them. Apparently, there's another disturbance on the border with Kislenaar. And the inhabitants of the Forest are beginning to worry.

- Dziękuję Alvo, że przyszłaś. Mogłaś przecież wysłać którąś ze służek - Aldara uśmiechnęła się ciepło do bratanicy. - Wiem, że ostatnio jesteś bardzo zajęta.

- Z przyjemnością oderwałam się od tych wszystkich pism... Napływają z każdego zakątka kontynentu. Ostatnio zaczęłam już myśleć po kislenaarsku... - westchnęła dziewczyna.

- Nie dziwię się - pokiwała głową Aldara. - Faktycznie niepokoje na granicy ostatnio się nasiliły. Wciąż nie jestem pewna, o co właściwie chodzi. 

- Nie pocieszę cię ciociu. Z tych wszystkich listów, które ostatnio przetłumaczyłam nadal nic konkretnego nie wynika - Alva westchnęła po raz drugi. 

- Thank you, Alva, for coming. You could have sent one of the maids - Aldara smiled warmly at her niece. - I know you've been very busy lately.

- I was glad to break away from all those letters... They're pouring in from every corner of the continent. Lately, I've been thinking in Kislenaari...- the girl sighed.

- I'm not surprised - Aldara nodded. - Indeed, the unrest on the border has intensified lately. I'm still not sure what's going on.

- I can't comfort you, Auntie. All the letters I've translated recently still don't say anything concrete - Alva sighed again.

- Chodźmy zatem do królowej. Być może gońcy przywieźli jakieś wieści, które rozjaśnią nam całą sytuację - Aldara ujęła swoją srebrną laskę i energicznym ruchem ruszyła ku drzwiom.

Ciąg dalszy nastąpi.

- Let us go to the queen, then. Perhaps the messengers have brought some news that will clarify the situation - Aldara grabbed her silver cane and briskly moved toward the door.

Długo mnie nie było na blogu, a i w mediach społecznościowych zrobiłam sobie dłuższą przerwę. Nowa praca okazała się jednak bardziej absorbująca niż zakładałam. ;) Powoli wracam jednak do historii, którą razem z Jo z bloga Wiedźmi Świat zaczęłyśmy prowadzić jakiś czas temu. Mamy wielkie plany - chcemy założyć nowy profil na Instagramie i tam wszystko uporządkować, tak, żeby każdy mógł poczytać wszystko po kolei bez skakania między naszymi blogami. :)

A ja dziś wprowadzam nowe postacie, które będą odgrywać dosyć istotne role w całej historii. Pierwszą z nich jest Lady Aldara - mag bojowy i prawa ręka królowej Ellinor, władczyni Skagelandu. 

I haven't been on the blog for a while, and I've also taken a long break from social media. Well, my new job turned out to be more absorbing than I expected. ;) However, I'm slowly returning to the story that Jo from the Witch World blog and I started a while ago. We have big plans – we want to start a new Instagram profile and organize everything there, so everyone can read everything in order without having to jump between our blogs. :)

And today I'm introducing new characters who will play quite important roles in the story. The first is Lady Aldara – a Battle Mage and right-hand to Queen Ellinor, ruler of Skageland.

Udało mi się wreszcie zdobyć lalkę Madame Morrible z filmu Wicked (i nie stracić nerki). Na żywo okazała się jeszcze ładniejsza, niż na zdjęciach promocyjnych, choć podobieństwo do Michelle Yeoh jest umiarkowane. 

I finally managed to get the Madame Morrible doll from Wicked (without losing a kidney). She's even prettier in person than in the promotional photos, though her resemblance to Michelle Yeoh is only mild.

U mnie raz dwa wyskoczyła z pudła, zmieniłam jej ciało na made to move (choć zachowałam oryginalne dłonie, bo są o wiele ładniejsze od tych z mtm) i uszyłam suknię. Od razu wiedziałam, że musi być to coś w czerni i srebrze. Eleganckie, ale praktyczne - suknia ma rozcięcia i pozwala jeździć konno nie używając damskiego siodła. 

Lady Aldara jest długowiecznym magiem i zdecydowanie nie wygląda na swoje lata. Jest jednym z trzech najpotężniejszych magów bojowych na kontynencie (dwaj pozostali to Ragnvald i Percival). Od lat służy u boku królowej Ellinor (w tej roli obsadziłam lalkę Elizabeth Taylor, która wystąpiła kiedyś u mnie jako Królowa Śniegu). 

Aldara odegrała istotną rolę w historii Leny i Margaret - dzisiaj uchylony został rąbek tajemnicy. ;)

For me, she popped out of the box, changed her body to a made to move one (though I kept the original hands, as they're much prettier than the ones in MTM), and sewed a dress. I immediately knew it had to be something black and silver. Elegant, yet practical – the dress has slits and allows to ride a horse without using a lady's saddle.

Lady Aldara is a long-lived mage and definitely doesn't look her age. She is one of the three most powerful battle mages on the continent (the other two are Ragnvald and Percival). She has served alongside Queen Ellinor for years (I cast Elizabeth Taylor doll, who once played the Snow Queen here).

Aldara played an important role in the story of Lena and Margaret - today we have revealed a little bit of the secret. ;)

Druga panna to Alva - bratanica Lady Aldary. Ojciec wysłał ją na dwór pod opiekę siostry. Okazało się, że Alva nie wykazuje żadnych zdolności magicznych. Otrzymała jednak doskonałą edukację i wyszło na jaw, że ma talent do nauki języków. Została więc tłumaczką na dworze królowej Ellinor. Jest w jej najbliższym kręgu i doskonale odnajduje się w tej roli. 

The second girl was Alva, Lady Aldara's niece. Her father sent her to court under the care of her sister. It turned out that Alva had no magical abilities. However, she received an excellent education and discovered a talent for languages. She became a translator in Queen Ellinor's court. She is in her inner circle and excels in this role.

Alva to Barbie Inspiring Women Kristi Yamaguchi Doll - przyjechała do mnie dosłownie dwa dni temu. Kupiłam tą lalkę głównie ze względu na to, że potrzebowałam ciałka petite w tym kolorze dla Mini Me mojej Córy, a wreszcie udało mi się dorwać ją w bardzo przyzwoitej cenie. Okazało się jednak, że na żywo jest to prześliczna lalka, dałam jej więc standardowe ciało mtm (od tenisistki) i zrobiłam z niej bratanicę Aldary.

Alva is a Barbie Inspiring Women Kristi Yamaguchi Doll – she arrived literally two days ago. I bought this doll mainly because I needed a petite body in this color for my Daughter's Mini Me, and I finally managed to snag her at a very reasonable price. However, it turned out to be a gorgeous doll in person, so I gave her a standard MTM body (from the tennis player) and made her Aldara's niece.

I jeszcze słów kilka o dioramie - gabinet Aldary to niewielka diorama złożona z podłogi i dwóch ścian. Kupiłam dwie tapety z szarym kamieniem, które pasowały mi do wyglądu zamku w Skogborgu, stolicy Skagelandu. Najpierw zrobiłam stół.

A few words about the diorama – Aldara's study is a small diorama consisting of a floor and two walls. I bought two gray stone wallpapers that matched the look of the castle in Skogborg, the capital of Skageland. First, I made the table.

Następnie zrobiłam krzesło, które pasuje do zamkowej komnaty. Wszystkie drewniane meble i elementy, które znajdują się w dioramie powstały ze skrawków, które z uporem chomika zbieram od lat. ;) I niech mi ktoś powie, że to nieprzydatne resztki! Wszystko, WSZYSTKO może się przydać. ;)

Next, I made a chair that would fit into the castle room. All the wooden furniture and elements in the diorama were created from scraps I've been stubbornly collecting for years. ;) And let someone tell me these are useless leftovers! Anything, EVERYTHING, can be useful. ;)

Dodałam kilka ozdobnych elementów, które zostały mi po zrobieniu dekorów w domu Margaret i Wielkiej Sali w domu Tove.

I added a few decorative elements that I had left over from decorating Margaret's house and the Great Hall at Tove's house.

Następnie dremelem wygładziłam wszystkie krawędzie.

Then I smoothed all the edges with a Dremel.

Z innych resztek skleiłam okno.

I glued a window together from other scraps.

Wszystko pomalowałam wodną bejcą do drewna.

I painted everything with water-based wood stain.

Zrobiłam też dwie takie same szkatułki na naszyjniki dla Leny i Margaret. 

I also made two identical necklace boxes for Lena and Margaret.

Ozdobiłam je używając metalowych elementów do robienia biżuterii. "Zawiasy" zrobiłam z ryflowanej tasiemki, którą pomalowałam srebrną farbą akrylową.

I decorated them using metal jewelry-making elements. The "hinges" were made from ribbed ribbon, which I painted with silver acrylic paint.

Naszyjniki dla Leny i Margaret zrobiłam z maleńkich kamieni księżycowych. Sama byłam zaskoczona, że można kupić tak maleńkie kamyczki. :)

I made necklaces for Lena and Margaret from tiny moonstones. I was surprised that you could buy such tiny stones. :)

I to by było na tyle. Przynajmniej na dziś. ;)
